The Valley Oak Charter School Movement

We must preserve Valley Oak Schools as an essential part of our educational resource!

Closing the Achievement Gap

We can make a postive difference mentoring'at risk' students with early intervention in literacy and math.

Bringing back the School-Police Resource Officer

We cannot afford to alienate our young people with so called 'Truancy Sweeps.' We need to communicate better with our young people.

Preserving our school district open space

We must not allow district 'surplus property' to be gobbled up by land developers. Nugget Fields, the Grande Ave school site and the Susan B. Anthony properties are all too valuable to our community as recreational and educational resources to be paved over as city 'infill' projects.

Improving relationships and communication within our district

We need to restore civility and cooperation at all levels of our community. People need to be treated with a greater measure of respect. Students, teachers, administrators and parents alike need to cooperate better to make our schools more effective places for teaching and learning.
